The Bachelor in Physiotherapy at Alma Mater Europaea is a three-year (180 ECTS) full-time program designed to educate future physiotherapists with strong scientific foundations and practical skills. The program combines theoretical courses with extensive hands-on training, including over 1,150 hours of clinical practice in hospitals and health facilities in Austria, Slovenia, and Italy.
Students learn essential subjects such as anatomy, histology, biochemistry, and physics, along with physiotherapy-specific areas like therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, physiotherapy assessment, and ethics. Teaching is delivered through classroom lectures, seminars, lab sessions, and clinical rotations.
A key component of the program is practical experience. Students train in fully equipped physiotherapy labs, featuring treatment tables, diagnostic tools, and therapeutic equipment. Clinical training is conducted in over 30 partner institutions in Austria, as well as facilities in Slovenia and Italy.
Graduates are prepared to work across Europe in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private clinics, and sports medicine facilities. The program includes preparation for the professional qualification process in Slovenia and Austria. Students write and defend a research-based final thesis as part of their graduation requirements.
Classes are held in-person in small groups, with afternoon or weekend sessions to accommodate working professionals. Lectures may be recorded, while all lab sessions and practical courses require attendance. Students benefit from internationally experienced faculty, including experts in physiotherapy and rehabilitation technologies.
The program also fosters innovation by integrating robotics and AI into rehabilitation, offering students the opportunity to explore cutting-edge developments in the field. International exchanges and guest lectures are part of the academic offering.
