Graduates of the five-year study programme in Pharmacy will acquire extensive knowledge and practical skills in chemical, physical, biological, medical, and particularly pharmaceutical disciplines.
They understand the fate of the drug in the body, its effects and side effects, as well as the health and social aspects of taking medication. They possess high-level skills in pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical analysis, and clinical pharmacy, as well.
They acquire appropriate knowledge in the field of legal and other regulatory requirements, which they apply in practice competently.
The pharmacy study program in English is studied as combined I. and II. degree with a standard length of study of at least 5 and at most 7 years. The study is completed with the award of a master's degree (Mgr.).
The practical teaching of students is specific and includes the completion of a 6-month internship during studies in educational facilities as well as public pharmacies at home and abroad. The final theses are of an experimental nature. Research results during the course of study at faculty are presented at international conferences of student scientific activity, by participating in domestic and foreign scientific conferences and publications in the form of abstracts and scientific articles in proceedings of scientific events and in scientific journals.
Graduates have extensive knowledge and practical skills with wide application, e.g. in the regulated profession of a pharmacist in a pharmacy, in the production and distribution of medicines, in clinical practice or on behalf of a pharmaceutical company. The diploma obtained at the Faculty of Pharmacy is accepted in EU member countries.
