The aim of this study programme is to prepare highly competent information technology specialists, who can develop intelligent software systems applying machine learning, image recognition, data processing and data analysis algorithms.

The Artificial Intelligence study programme is for those future professionals who are willing to apply most recent currently developing technologies, who are interested in developing AI based solutions.

This study programme will provide learners not only with the skills and knowledge on how to apply AI algorithms; its graduates will also possess deep fundamental understanding of AI algorithms, which will enable them to determine algorithms efficiency, to develop hybrid AI models using image and language processing and machine learning, as well as choosing appropriate architectural parameters for systems aimed at implementing intelligent solutions.

Studies:

During the first year of studying, students deepen their knowledge in programming technologies, designing and analyzing algorithms, fundamentals of software engineering, designing and modelling IT systems.

That is, students get knowledge which is necessary for IT specialist of any field and increase their general competences as a developer of software systems and designer of solutions in informatics. Since the second year, students study topics on artificial intelligence, such as data processing and analysis, image processing and analysis, machine learning algorithms, deep learning. They also learn to design and develop AI-based solutions and systems.

Skills:

Excellent knowledge of programming technologies, artificial intelligence algorithms, practical skills in creating artificial intelligence solutions.

Upon graduation, students are able to apply the practical skills of programming, algorithms and systems implementation to realize cost-effective and human-assisted intelligent systems that solve real-world problems and create a sustainable artificial intelligence ecosystem.

Career Outcomes:

When developing IT solutions, companies are increasingly faced with tasks that require knowledge and competencies in the field of artificial intelligence: image recognition, object classification, process structure identification, process optimization, exception analysis and more.

Currently, there is a particular shortage of people who are professionals in application development and at the same time are able to understand the potential of artificial intelligence and use it to create the final IT product.

According to the statistics of the World Economic Forum, the demand for such specialists in the labor market is currently particularly high and will only increase in the future. The salaries of such employees remain among the highest in both Lithuania and Europe.

• Practice: While studying, students have opportunity to gain practical experience in leading Lithuanian and foreign companies which implement solutions in software engineering, information technology and artificial intelligence fields.
• Product and service development: Are you interested in creating real products and services while studying? It is now possible to test yourself by getting involved in a product development project (PDP). During the project, you will work in teams, collaborating with KTU researchers and social partners. While solving current, relevant problems you will improve your teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills, deepen professional knowledge and expand your career opportunities.
• Recognition of professionals: Artificial Intelligence study programme was awarded the Investors’ Spotlight quality label by the Investors’ Forum association and the Foreign Direct Investment Development Agency Invest Lithuania. The programme has been recognised for its excellent relevance to market needs and professionally developed study content.
