The students who see their future within the aviation domain learn how principles of aerodynamics works, which materials aircraft are made of, and how those materials and structures behave during flight.
At this Aviation Engineering degree, you will learn how to design aviation equipment, develop, research, and improve aircraft systems, identify and address functionality and reliability issues. Consequently, you will be prepared for careers as aircraft and aircraft systems designers, aviation technicians/engineers, and air transport specialists/consultants.
Programme Overview:
- Studies: This study programme has been developed taking into account the recommendations of the Public Enterprise Transport Competence Authority and aviation companies. Guest lecturers – practitioners from aviation companies – will help the students navigate in the field by introducing them to the latest technologies and design specifics used in aviation.
- Infrastructure: You will work with the specialized testing equipment in the University’s laboratories, such as the wind tunnel, non-destructive testing equipment, and the automated design system for aircraft or aircraft systems and structures.
- Career: The Aviation Engineering study programme is intended for forward-thinking and ambitious students. Some of them have nurtured the dream of pursuing a career in aviation from a young age, which means the learning environment will be both challenging and motivating for the students. You will have the opportunity to join the student projects such as the Flying Aerodynamics Laboratory, the “Kkštas” single-seater helicopter, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and others, where you will expand your knowledge, enhance your skills, and perhaps even work on your own individual project.
- Skills: Upon graduation, you will be ready to start your career in aviation equipment design, development, research, and upgrading of aircraft systems, and addressing the functionality and reliability issues. You will be equipped with the skills necessary to work at aircraft design, manufacturing, and repair companies and aviation companies.
