Are you creative, skilled and interested in digital technologies? This practice-oriented Interior Design bachelor’s degree programme at Macromedia University of Applied Sciences promotes your individual talents and you will become an expert in modern interior design.

Immerse yourself in the world of interior design: During your studies, you will learn in theory and practice how to furnish interiors in an appealing way – whether it’s a study or a doctor’s office, a bank branch or a public authority. You will create detailed sketches and models for your projects, work with different colors and materials, and create convincing overall concepts.

Good to know: To be able to officially call yourself an interior designer in Germany, you must be admitted to the Chamber of Architects in your federal state. Currently, this programme does not make you eligible for admission by a German architectural chamber.

Interior Design modules:

• Spatial Design: You learn how to design living spaces, public spaces, practices and offices so that people feel comfortable in them. The targeted use of light, color, shapes and materials plays an important role.
• 3D Scenography and Installations: This is where interior design and technology meet: You will learn what makes up a holistic spatial concept and how you can make your visions come alive for your customers – for example, through plastic models from the 3D printer.
• Spatial Visualisation: This module is about the visual representation of your ideas. With the help of 3D models, rendering and animations, you create detailed plans. Special software is used for this.

Admission requirements:

You can apply easily for Bachelor´s programme in Interior Design via the online application. Important: Please include a digital portfolio with 10 to 25 work samples, e.g. drawings, animations, sketches, photos, computer graphics or similar. The admission to the Bachelor’s degree programmes at Macromedia University take place according to the Baden-Württemberg Regulations about qualifications for university study. Accordingly, the general secondary education certificate (e.g., High School Diploma), the entrance qualification for universities/universities of applied sciences or equal qualification is a prerequisite for admission to the Macromedia University Bachelor’s degree programmes.
