As a developer for Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality, a wide range of career opportunities will be open to you. Today, almost every industry is looking for specialised developers who can create interactive graphical applications or simulations — both with and without game engines.
Whether in aerospace, the games industry, the automotive sector, architecture, entertainment or medicine – all of these fields are increasingly using Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality as new visualisation and interactive media. You will qualify both for the development of immersive applications and for software-oriented roles in game studios and technology-driven industries.
If you decide not to enter the job market straight away, your state-recognised Bachelor’s degree will give you access to a wide range of Master’s programmes in Germany and abroad, for example in Creative Technologies, Interaction Design, Digital Reality, Computer Graphics, or more generally in Computer Science and Media Studies.
In the programme, you will explore a wide range of exciting subjects that prepare you for the development of modern technologies and game development. You begin with academic and scientific working methods and fundamentals of computer science, followed by hands-on project work.
As your studies progress, you deepen your knowledge in programming, software engineering and mixed reality applications. You will also work with virtual worlds, game design and core computer science topics, and further develop your skills in programming, computer graphics and interaction design.
Later on, you can choose between 3D modelling, mobile AR and topics such as entrepreneurship. The programme also includes an internship, as well as subjects such as artificial intelligence and edutainment, before you spend the final semesters working on your capstone project and Bachelor’s thesis.
Our VR/AR lab offers you countless development and test systems that can be borrowed or permanently installed.
A wide variety of VR goggles, graphics tablets, a holographic projection system, a fully equipped VR corner, a sound station, a large collection of magazines and much more: whether you want to chill out comfortably on the couch, play multiplayer games on the large-screen TV, immerse yourself in virtual worlds, concentrate on projects or work diligently on your own development in group work with additional monitors - our VR/AR Lab is optimally equipped for the development of video games, virtual worlds and VR simulations!
