Description:

The Master's Program in Monitoring and Control of Electrical Power Systems Engineering (MS2) prepares graduates with knowledge and skills in monitoring, modeling, simulation, control and optimization of electricity transmission / distribution / use installations and systems.

What will you learn about?

  • Integrated management of power systems;
  • Optimization, safety and risk in the operation of power equipment and systems;
  • Artificial intelligence techniques in electrical power systems engineering;
  • Dynamic modelling of the components of the electric power system;
  • Stability at low disturbances, transient stability and long-term stability of power systems including in the presence of distributed generation;
  • SCADA systems;
  • Use of high-performance software products for the analysis of interconnected power systems - EUROSTAG, NEPLAN, EDSA, VSTAB, STABTEN, ETAP, MATLAB;
  • Analysis of the main categories of problems related to energy efficiency of power systems;
  • Using methods specific to nonlinear programming to solve energy problems;
  • Identifying the causes and effects of power quality on the electric power system and on electricity users;
  • Equipment maintenance
