If you aspire to become a professional performer in classical music and jazz, whether as an instrumentalist-singer, a soloist, or a musician or conductor in diverse ensembles, the Performing Arts study programme is the ideal choice for you.
Here, you will not only enhance your performance skills but also delve into the history and theory of music, acquire pedagogical knowledge, learn to conduct music research, and apply your knowledge to the development and implementation of cultural policy. VMU Music Academy has over 100 professional teachers – prominent Kaunas and Lithuanian artists – who will open up a wider window to the world of music. And as we are located next to the Aleksotas Observation Deck, these windows offer breathtaking views of Kaunas.
The knowledge, skills, and professional experience acquired during your studies will provide you with the opportunity to work in cultural and educational institutions, as well as musical collectives, develop your own creative and concert activities, and pursue further education in second-cycle studies. The skills acquired during the studies allow the graduates to successfully design their professional activities.
Graduates from the Performance Art study programme successfully integrate into the labour market, join various symphonic, chamber, string, brass band, opera and ballet, musical, drama theatre, chamber ensembles, jazz and popular music collectives, radio and television, engage in individual and freelance artist practice, working in the creative industries sector.
After completion of the minor studies, they expand their professional career opportunities to work in scientific, managerial, pedagogical or other activity areas.
